Silk & Velvet - New Female Face Skins

Hey guys, here are the new faces I’ve been working on. I started these because I wanted an alternative to my current Naughty & Nice face skins. The nose on those is rather defined in the tip area which makes very nice button noses but not much else. I also wanted to take the time to fix a few other issues on the originals. The eyelids were bothering me, for example, among other things.

So I came up with ‘Silk’, it’s a smoother, more highlighted less shaded version of my original faces. The entire nose length is smooth and highlighted and I have muted a lot of the shaded areas on the face, for example the eye socket area, undereyes and the cheeks. The lip texture was smoothed and softened and the eyelid area was neatened up with the tear-ducts scaled down slightly.

Here is Silk:

From then I started playing with the nostril area and I ended up with a face that had a more defined nostril. I couldn’t decide which I preferred and I knew that some of you would like silk whilst others would like velvet, so I decided to publish both.

Here is Velvet:

Here is a comparison of the three skins:

The elder face skins were also smoothed out a little to match the Silk & Velvet YA skins. The noses were changed accordingly.

Both faces come in Default and Non-Default and will match up with my Naughty & Nice and my Busty St Clair body skins.
They also have custom sliders which have the names printed on them. The dots are black & white and the sliders come in a range of colours.

If you have previously downloaded the full set of Default Naughty & Nice Face/Body skins and wish to use one of these faces instead, then I suggest you remove the Naughty & Nice full set and just install the bodies instead then you can choose which faces you like.

You can download one of these faces as your default if you wish, and you can also have the other as a non-default. At the moment I have my Naughty & Nice faces installed, my Busty st Claire bodies and I have Silk and Velvet as non-defaults.

Enjoy <3

Yes! So glad I decided to try back here one last time before going in to play a bit before bed. I love them and will try them all out to see which I prefer. It is too close to call right now but no matter which I use as default the others will be used by me as non default for sure. I am so crazy over these skins, my ladies have never looked better!

Thank you for all the time and work you put into improving this game! EA should really start paying several of you creators!

  • No worries, gemini! I hope you like them, let me know what you think.
I’ll have to go fix the original skin scalps soon too now that I have the right blasted colour for them.

  • Eliza

These are lovely, but I’m afraid I have a request. Would it be possible for you to create files of these merged with your other skins as non defaults? (Ie, all toddler/child/adult faces and bodies in one file, so all ages get covered by one skin without needing a default?) I’ve tried it myself, but I don’t know what some of the files are for (mainly some blackish things with dark grey lines), and they don’t come out very well for me. And your faces wouldn’t look very nice with my defaults I’m afraid. I hope this isn’t too much to ask.

  • Hey Eliza, if I get a free moment in the next couple of days I will package them up with the busty st clair skins as non-defaults and the kids n stuff. Which one did you prefer? Silk or Velvet?

  • So happy! omgfapfapfap thx!!1!!1!! :)

  • Eliza

I like both, but I think I would prefer silk. And thank you.

  • Lmao. *throws alan a towel*

    No worries, Eliza.

  • Jenipunch

Holy crap I would love to get an entire LFB package of awesomeness for the skins, I have about 20 LFB skin dots in my game now and I get all confused as to which is which! =) But whenever you get any free time of course, there’s no hurry.

Love ‘em both, Silk is my new default! :)

  • DianFelisa

    These are gorgeous!
I can’t wait to see how they look in game.
    Thank you, LFB :D

Haha, I was going to ask you “Are you using Escand’s eyes?” and then I saw the credits.

  • Hehe no worries DianFelisa! Have fun playing with them! :)

  • Debbie

Wow i like these new faces. Just wondering will you be making a male version of your silk and velvet faces. Great work, really like the silk version. Thank you.

  • I’m not sure Debbie. I only really made these ones because the nose shading on the female skins made them kinda not very versatile. I don’t think I shaded the male noses as much. I can always revisit them later though and see what I can do with the highlighting :)

  • Thank you, I <3 them! Silk faces are my new defaults.

  • Debbie

Thanks if you did that would be great. Love your skins, you always produce quality work.

  • Pattie

    Loves em,
can’t wait for more skins *crosses fingers for non-muscle male skin*
thanks for all you do :)

  • Slipslop

Nice to see them releasaed, i’m currently testing them out. First i didn’t find them because i was searching though all my skincolored dots in my skin palette until i saw yours are black, pretty nice to find them quickly ;) Is there a way to edit those dots so you can assign a color to it or label them with LFB for instance? Or were the black dots just by accident?

  • gubstrina

Great skins, as always!!! I was wondering if you might have time to write up a quick tutorial on how to change the names of your skins so that I can tell which is which (busty, ladybug, etc.) to show up in my skin selection area? All of them seem to be labeled Lady Frontbum, so I’m not sure if I’m using the right one or not? I’d really appreciate it, if you have the time. If not, thanks anyway and you rock!

  • Man, I love your skins!

I just wish I could provide a better solution for non-defaults than what’s already been done. I’ve been trying to separate the body from faces in the TONE index file, but haven’t had any luck (it requires a change to the core, but I can’t get it to work without a CTD anytime I try to load CAS). Wouldn’t that be the best, being able to select a face skin separate from bidy skin (no more having to make different packs for everyone that wants something different).

Thanks for your beautiful work as always.

  • Distopia

The Picture on the top right of silk look very much like the english model Jordan (just an observation) Love your work!

  • Slipslop, I think the game takes the colour from a certain point in the actual slider… I think (don’t quote me on this) that it is about 2mm in from the top of the PNG image file for the slider tone. This is why it sometimes goes black, because it lands on the text you’ve written on your PNG file for the slider. I surrounded my last slider text with pastel coloured glow and was able to make my dots pastel coloured. You just have to play around with the positioning/colour of your text and you should be able to control the colour of your dots.

I didn’t bother with these ones because the velvet writing pretty much covered the entire slider img square and I couldn’t move it around.

  • Gubstrina I actually used missy harries tutorial to learn how to rename the sliders using skininator. It’s over at MTS. I’ll see if I can find it for you when I get a moment today.

    Thanks everyone :)

  • LOL distopia, it does look a bit like jordan!

  • Howaida

wow these are wonderful my sims would look so ugly with out your skins I’m not kidding

  • clsin

Thanks so much LFD, your skins are delicate!
I literally stare at the comparison picture for a minute before choosing silk as default.
I think the under eye area of velvet is more highlighted, its better for making Asian sims.

  • Tommerton

Hi Lady, always fine artwork. You are Top 10 in the comunity. How are your Health?

  • My dots are white but that’s fine with me and easily locatable. But I’m having a tiny problem, I can’t use the face with busty…it will only work on the original first skin you made. Could it be something I’m doing wrong? I know how to install and everything…I’m just scratching my head on this one. The looks awesome though!!!!! I just finished a Sim and I used Velvet and it’s lovely…I’m very pleased…but the original didn’t bother me at all. It’s so neat having the ability to switch up.

Any ideas on what I could do to fix this problem?

    Oh…I use the non-default

  • Thanks guys. Tommerton I’m still a bit stuffed up but I’m not coughing much anymore, thanks for asking :)

Cece, if you are using the non-default faces, they will just work with whatever skin you have installed as default. So if you have the naughty nice original body installed as your default, the non-default head will be on those bodies.

I’m gonna pack the silk heads up with my child and toddler skins and busty st claire bodies as a non-default pack when I get a chance. If it doesn’t take too long i’ll do velvet as well. So if you can’t get it sorted you should be able to use those when I get them done :)

clsim, the areas under the eyes could very well be different on the two, I tried to get them the same using layers in photoshop but because I was working on one more than the other then had to make the other match, I probably did end up with more highlights on one. You have good eyes lol :D

  • Mamoa

Is it possible to package these with not only the child and toddler but the male as well. It sounds like a lot of work (and I feel really bad for asking) but I tried it myself and the male didn’t work after although it was most likely something I did. Thanks.

  • Miss Lady I wanted to thank you for your skins. I am still using AllIeverwanted’s faces because I like how they make the guys with a little bit of color on their face without me having to put blush on them but I am using your skins for just about everything else. I appreciate your hard work!

  • Mamoa, yep I’ll put the male skins in as well.

    No worries calico :)

  • Thank you Rez <3
That would be really awesome, being able to select a separate head/body. It would save soooo much time. :D
You've done fab work though, seriously, having non-default skins is the best thing EVAR.

  • Pheris

While I know you’re busy, would it be possible to get just the male faces as well? Though I love your bodies, I’m using Kanno’s moonlight skin as my default, since not all my male sims are muscular. I’m absolutely in move with these faces. The amount of difference nostril definition on a texture makes is astounding.

  • atinea

I love all your skintones. They are my favorites by far. Thank you for taking the time to make such beautiful and detailed skintones and for sharing them.

  • Livvy

LOVE IT! Especially the Velvet Texture. So pretty, thank you! ^_^

  • Emily

I want to use your skins…but I am new to Sims 3, and I have NO idea how to get them in. Help?:(

  • sandman16

I love your skins, thank you very much for your hard work.

  • Jewel
