Work in Progress: Glitter

I’m in the middle of trying to figure out how to make glitter eyeshadow that actually glitters. It’s a pain in the arse.

What I have so far

I’m gonna try a few more things because obviously that ain’t shining. I think I have to go crazy on the contrast.

Oh wells I’ll keep you posted.

  • This looks awesome! Would be great for making sim billboards or adverts or something… I can’t offer help because I know zilch about creating eyeshadows and that shizz.

All I know is, you’re going in a great direction! Keep going with this! :)

  • Thanks Alan. I’m going to keep trying but so far nada. All of todays efforts just resulted in not glittery looking eyeshadow. Hopefully I can figure it out though.

  • Ah,that sucks man. :)

Did you see emmzx’s thread in the CFF over at MTS? Maybe you could communicate or whatevs? Sorry. I’m pretty useless at this kind of thing! :(

Oh, and on a creation whoreish note, would you mind checking out my Kendra Wilkinson? her nose is making me sad. Here’s the link: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=401661&goto=newpost Thanks in advance! :P

  • Yeah I saw emmzx’s thread, I think I posted in it. I think we are both having a similar issue – actually getting the eyeshadow to sparkle. I’ve fucked around with the specular so much today and I still can’t figure it out. It shits me because in one attempt I managed to get the bottom lid to shine in one spot but the top lid didn’t even though I had basically done the same thing to the specular up there. Fucken thing.

Anyway I’ve been working on another glam shadow. This time with the wing of the shadow going all around the eye so it’s like really dark liner or somesuch. I’m just working on getting that one channel really neat so I can save it and it can be used for multiple shadows in the future.

I think someone managed to make glitter eyeshadow and blush on GOS a while ago. It wasn’t very well made, but it might have glittered, so maybe when the site is back up you can dig that file up, and look around to see what the person did.

  • Cheers Eliza, I’ll have a look when it’s back up :)

You have to make a specular for it :D

  • Lol DAL! I messed around with speculars ALL day the other day. Ask Davey, I was whining about them the entire time I was chatting to him :D
I couldn’t for the life of me get the specular to make the glitter sparkle. I’ll keep trying though.
